Audition Preparation Guide (READ THIS FIRST)
This guide walks you through sheet music, slating, what to wear, and how to prep for both singing and acting.

General Information
- Please do not copy other renditions or performers that you may have seen. Approach it in a fresh and original way!
- Auditions begin with an orientation so we can talk through the order of events. Please arrive 30 minutes before your audition.
- An accompanist will be provided at in-person auditions.
- You must bring properly prepared sheet music and sing with the accompanist β there will be no auditions using a track or sung a cappella.
- Students will audition in groups with their song and monologue before moving on to a dance call. Please be dressed in proper attire to dance.
- If asked to stay, callbacks will follow immediately after.
- All auditions will be recorded.
- Always come to auditions anticipating the chance that not all will be cast.
- You must be available for the entire two weeks to participate.
- π₯Β If you are submitting a video audition, please follow the exact same guidelines and send to [email protected] as one video by May 22nd.
- Whether you are cast or not, we highly suggest you request feedback, which is available for all who audition.
What to prepare?
- (1) 60 second Musical Theatre Song; uptempo or ballad (contrasted from monologue)
- (1) 60 second Monologue from a play; dramatic or comedic (contrasted from song)
- Properly marked and cut sheet music (more info below!)
- Audition outfit to sing/act AND dance in
